In the Abyss Artist statement: This one is my favorite because I think it is an interesting perspective of a lawn decoration. That's what it is -- a green ball lawn decoration. I like how the light comes in from the side and adds a happier feeling to the entire picture. It brings out the greens and the reds of the picture. And I think the red contrasts nicely with the green background, adding depth and more of an abyss feeling and really making it look like a painting.

LCA Arena Artist Statement: I took this picture right after the Red Wings beat the Bruins 5-3. This was an important win for the Red Wings because the Bruins were the leader in points this season, so winning this game meant a lot to the future of the team. This picture is important to me in particular because both my friend and I were at the game that night, and we had a great time.
Independence Lake Artist Statement: This picture is important to me because I've had a lot of great memories at this park. From birthday parties to just hanging out at the lake, this place as proved to be a staple in my life. On this particular day, my mom and I were just walking around with our dog. What I like most about the picture is the sky. I like how the sky has a very light shade in the middle and darker shades on the edges.
Pool Artist Statement This picture represents my pool and the work we have to go through to get it to the point to swim in. Right now the pool is obviously closed, but once we open it, we will have a lot of fun times. For me, this picture is all right. I like the reflection of the trees and the sky onto the pool.
Polyscapes
Field Artist Statement This picture contains two different landscapes at almost similar times of the day. The field is right before the sunset, while the fair is during the sunset. I also like how both of the pictures match each other in terms of composition. The fair matches the lighting pole and the clouds of the field.
In the Snow Artist Statement Both of these pictures are at different times of winter. The background is during the middle of winter while the middle picture is during winter's final stages. I liked how the two pictures come together in terms of the branches. Both of the pictures focus on bushes and branches, so it adds some flow to the two pictures.
The Swamp Artist statement This picture is of the swamp in the back of my house and my driveway in the front of my house. For the swamp picture, I liked how a piece of land goes into the middle of the frame. I also liked how the middle picture lines up with the background picture in terms of the line that meets the grass and the dirt. I also liked how I took a different route with the shapes on this one, instead of just going circular and triangular I also included a rectangle.
